If you are a nonimmigrant and intend to become an F1 visa student with Kaplan, Kaplan is authorized under federal law to issue a Form I-20 AB or Certificate of Eligibility for NonImmigrant (F1) Students. The form I-20 is a legal document that states to the U.S. Government that an individual has been accepted by an institution for the purpose of fulltime study. An I20 is used by that individual to apply for an F1 Visa at a U.S. Embassy or Consulate. Without a valid I-20, an individual cannot obtain F1 Visa status.
