First Day of Class (DAT, GMAT, GRE, LSAT, MCAT, OAT, PCAT Programs)

DAT 
DAT students have several tasks to complete before attending any In Person class sessions. If for some reason your course book does not arrive by the time you are ready to complete Sessions 1, 2, or 3, you can find PDF versions of these lessons in your online syllabus. Under each session in your online syllabus, go to the section that says "Class Session" and find the Lesson Book PDF links.

Note: Canadian DAT students have a copy of their Diagnostic exam in their online study plan (that excludes PAT).​
  
1.Log in to your account at www.kaptest.com and read the "Start Here" section in your online study plan.
2.Watch the orientation video. This video will give you an overview of your course and help you get the most out of all the course features and assets (4 minutes).
3.Take the online Diagnostic exam (choice of either American or Canadian). This should be done before you complete any of the other class sessions.
4.Strategy and Reading Comprehension 1 will be your first scheduled lesson, and you will meet your class In Person or Live Online at that session. Please plan to bring your book to this class, and complete the pre-class reading assignment beforehand. 
5.Take a look at the Perceptual Ability and Organic Chemistry sessions, which will be delivered as live online Flex sessions and need to be signed up for separately. Plan which ones you will attend and enroll online.

GMAT
GMAT students have several tasks to complete before attending any class sessions. Plan to bring your course book, GMAT Premier, to this class. If for some reason your course book does not arrive by the time you are ready to begin your class sessions, you can find PDF versions of all Math and Verbal lessons in your online syllabus. Under each session in your online syllabus, go to the section that says "Class Session" and find the Course Booklet PDF links.
   
1.Log in to your account at www.kaptest.com and read the "Get Started" section in your online study plan.
2.Take the Diagnostic exam online, available in your course syllabus. This should be done before you complete any of the other sessions. 
3.GMAT Quantitative Strategy or GMAT Verbal Strategy & Critical Reasoning will be your first scheduled lesson, depending on your specific schedule. You will meet your class In Person or Live Online at that session. Please plan to bring your book to this class, and complete the pre-class preview videos beforehand.

 
GRE
GRE students have several tasks to complete before attending any class sessions. Plan to bring your GRE Math Workbook or your GRE Verbal Workbook to class, as appropriate. The GRE Premier book is for out-of-session study and reference only and is not needed in the class sessions. If for some reason your course book does not arrive by the time you are ready to begin your class sessions, you can find PDF versions of all Math and Verbal lessons in your online syllabus. Under each session in your online syllabus, go to the section that says "Class Session" and find the Course Booklet PDF links.

You should also plan to bring a notebook and a calculator to class.

4.Quant 1 or Verbal 1 will be your first scheduled lesson, depending on your specific schedule. You will meet your class In Person or Live Online at that session. Please plan to bring your book to this class, and complete the pre-class preview videos beforehand.


LSAT
LSAT students have several tasks to complete before attending any In Person or Live Online class sessions:
 
1.Log in to your account at www.kaptest.com and read the Getting Started section in your online study plan.
2.Watch the Getting Started orientation video. This video will give you an overview of your course and help you get the most out of all the course features and assets (11 minutes).
3.Take the online High-Yield Skills Assessment. This should be done before you complete the Diagnostic exam or any of the other class sessions.
4.Check out The LSAT Channel. As a Kaplan LSAT student, you already have free and unlimited access to The LSAT Channel, airing hundreds of hours of live, elective instruction six days a week.  As soon as you’ve completed your Diagnostic exam, you can attend the following interactive episodes via The LSAT Channel:
"Diagnostic Reviews" (by section)
"Study Planning & Tour of Your Resources"
5.Check out the Practice Library. Here you will find Mastery Assignments, Timing/Section Practice, and Endurance/Full-Length Practice. All of these assignments are printable.

Your first In Person or Live Online class session will be your Full-Length LSAT Diagnostic exam, which In Person students will take in the classroom and Live Online students will take online. In Person students should bring the appropriate test and grid, mailed to you in your LSAT Home Study Kit.

If for some reason your home study kit does not arrive before your LSAT Diagnostic exam is scheduled, you can find and print a copy of the test from your online study plan. Under Core Sessions, click on Diagnostic Test and then find the section labeled "Class Session" to view the PDF test and answer grid links. You can also find PDF versions of the lesson book pages for Session 2 ("LG I: Sequencing/Selection; Formal Logic") and Session 3 ("LR I: Argument-Based Qs") in your online study plan. Under each session, find the section labeled "Class Session" to view the PDF lesson chapter links.

While you're waiting for your class to begin, check the LSAT Channel for hundreds of live and on demand episodes for immediate viewing and learning. You may find many of the "Foundations" episodes particularly helpful. Just use the difficulty filter to find what intrigues you most. 

 
 
MCAT 
MCAT students have several tasks to complete before attending any class sessions. Your first scheduled, session will be Chem/Phys 1. However, before this session you will need to do the four things listed below to prepare yourself.

NOTE: You can access The MCAT Channel and view the full schedule of upcoming episodes from the left hand menu in your online syllabus. 
 
What should I bring to class? 
You’ll want to bring your Lesson Book to all of your class sessions going forward. You do not need to bring your Review Notes books with you to class, but are welcome to do so if you’d like.
   
1.Log in to your account at www.kaptest.com and read the "Getting Started" section in your online syllabus.
2.Watch the orientation video. This video will give you an overview of your MCAT course and help you get the most out of all the course features and assets (5 minutes).
3.Take your Diagnostic & Science Assessments. By kicking off your preparation with a half-length MCAT Diagnostic (4 hours) and six Science Assessments (2 hours), you will begin getting familiar with the test structure and content, establish an initial performance baseline, and activate your personalized recommendations for each session’s assignments based on your individual strengths and weaknesses.
4.Complete your Before Class assignments for Chem/ Phys 1. As with every class session, you’ll find your Before Class and After Class assignments for your first Chem/ Phys 1 session on the Study Plan tab of your online account.
5.Check out The MCAT Channel. As a Kaplan MCAT student, you already have free and unlimited access to The MCAT Channel, airing hundreds of hours of live, elective instruction six days a week.  As soon as you’ve completed your Diagnostic exam, you can attend the following interactive episodes via The MCAT Channel:
"Diagnostic Reviews" (by section)
"Creating Your MCAT Study Schedule"
 

OAT
