DAT

DAT students have several tasks to complete before attending any In Person class sessions:
  1. Log in to your account at www.kaptest.com and read the "Getting Started" section in your online syllabus.
  2. Take the Online Diagnostic exam (Session 1 in your online syllabus).  This should be done before you complete any of the other sessions.
  3. Strategy and Reading Comprehension 1 will be your first scheduled lesson, and you will meet your class In Person or Live Online at that session. Please plan to bring your book to this class, and complete the pre-class reading assignment beforehand.
  4. Take a look at the Perceptual Ability and Organic Chemistry sessions, which will be delivered as Flex sessions and need to be signed up for separately, and tentatively plan which ones you will attend.
If for some reason your course book does not arrive by the time you are ready to complete Sessions 2 and 3, you can find PDF versions of these lessons in your online syllabus.  Under each session in your online syllabus, go to the section that says "Class Session" and find the Lesson Book PDF links.

Note: Canadian DAT students receive a copy of their Diagnostic exam in their home study kit.  If you have not yet received your home study kit and your Biology 1 session is less than ONE WEEK away, call 1-800-KAP-TEST (1-800-527-8378) to request a protected PDF copy of the Canadian DAT Diagnostic exam.

GMAT

GMAT students have two tasks to complete before attending any class sessions:
  1. Log in to your account at www.kaptest.com and complete the "Getting Started" section in your online syllabus.
  2. Take the Diagnostic Exam online, available in your course syllabus.  This should be done before you complete any of the other sessions.
Session 1 in your online syllabus (either GMAT Quantitative Strategy OR GMAT Verbal Strategy & Critical Reasoning, depending on your specific schedule) will be your first lesson, and you will meet your class in-person or Live Online at that session. Plan to bring your course book, GMAT Premier, to this class.

If for some reason your course book does not arrive by the time you are ready to begin your class sessions, you can find PDF versions of the first two lessons of both Math and Verbal in your online syllabus. Under each session in your online syllabus, go to the section that says "Class Session" and find the Course Booklet PDF links.

GRE

GRE students have two tasks to complete before attending any class sessions:
  1. Log in to your account at www.kaptest.com and read the "Getting Started" section in your online syllabus.
  2. Take the Diagnostic exam online, available in your course syllabus.  This should be done before you complete any of the other sessions.
Session 1 in your online syllabus (either Quantitative Session 1 OR Verbal Session 1, depending on your specific schedule) will be your first lesson, and you will meet your class in-person or Live Online at that session. For all of your class sessions (Sessions 1 through 8 in your online syllabus), you only need to bring your GRE Math Workbook or your GRE Verbal Workbook, as appropriate.  The GRE Premier book is for out-of-session study and reference only and is not needed in in session.

You should also plan to bring a notebook and a calculator to class.

If for some reason your Math and Verbal workbooks do not arrive by the time you are ready to begin your class sessions, you can find PDF versions of the first two lessons of both Math and Verbal in your online syllabus.  Under each session in your online syllabus, go to the section that says "Class Session" and find the session Course Booklet PDF links.

LSAT

LSAT students have one task to complete before attending any In Person or Live Online class sessions:
  • Log in to your account at www.kaptest.com and read the "Getting Started" section in your online syllabus.
Your first In Person or Live Online class session will be your Full-Length LSAT Diagnostic exam (Session 1 in your online syllabus), which In Person students will take in the classroom and LSAT Live Online students will take online.  In Person students should bring the appropriate test and grid, mailed to you in your LSAT Home Study Kit.

If for some reason your home study kit does not arrive before your LSAT Diagnostic exam is to take place, you can find and print a copy of the test from your online syllabus.  Under Session 1, find the section labeled "Test" and click the link that says "Don't Have Your Books Yet? - Diagnostic Test Course Materials".  Print this, along with a copy of the test grid, available in the "Getting Started" section of your syllabus.

You can also find PDF versions of the lesson book pages for Session 2 (Core Lesson 1: Strategy Intro; Seq LG) and Session 3 (Core Lesson 2: Assumption; RC Intro) in your online syllabus.  Under each session, go to the section that says "Review" and find the link that begins with "Don't Have Your Books Yet?"

While you're waiting for your class to begin, check the LSAT Channel for hundreds of live and On Demand episodes for immediate viewing and learning. You may find many of the "Foundations" episodes particularly helpful. Just use the difficulty filter to find what intrigues you most.

MCAT

MCAT students have several tasks to complete before attending any class sessions:

Your first scheduled, session will be Chem/Phys 1. However, before this session you will need to do four things to prepare yourself:
  1. Watch the orientation video. This video will give you an overview of your MCAT course and help you get the most out of all the course features and assets (5 minutes).
  2. Take your Diagnostic & Science Assessments. By kicking off your preparation with a half-length MCAT Diagnostic (4 hours) and six Science Assessments (2 hours), you will begin getting familiar with the test structure and content, establish an initial performance baseline, and activate your personalized recommendations for each session’s assignments based on your individual strengths and weaknesses.
  3. Complete your Before Class assignments for Chem/ Phys 1. As with every class session, you’ll find your Before Class and After Class assignments for your first Chem/ Phys 1 session on the Study Plan tab of your online account.
  4. Check out The MCAT Channel. As a Kaplan MCAT student, you already have free and unlimited access to The MCAT Channel, airing hundreds of hours of live, elective instruction six days a week.  As soon as you’ve completed your Diagnostic exam, you can attend the following interactive episodes via The MCAT Channel:
    • Diagnostic Reviews (by section)
    • Creating Your MCAT Study Schedule
You can access The MCAT Channel and view the full schedule of upcoming episodes from the left hand menu in your online syllabus.

What should I bring to class?

You’ll want to bring your Lesson Book to all of your class sessions going forward. You do not need to bring your Review Notes books with you to class, but are welcome to do so if you’d like.
